![]() ![]() Yes, I know Adventures of Mana exists, but Sword improved so much on the original Adventure and the aspects it brought deserve to be given a second, more HD and modern take. It is what, I hope, eventually gets a remake as well. ![]() Those games also feel a bit off, because they under-do what Sword over-did, in a way that makes me appreciate some of the changes but resent others it was nice to actually get more depth and story about Dark Lord, but at the same time making him Granz's kid and Davias's brother is a bit contrived.Īll in all, it's a game I enjoy, I will always try and emphasize the good over the bad since a lot of purists seem to hate it, but like most of the Mana games it really suffers from unrealized potential and missed opportunity. The problem was it wasn't a very good Seiken Densetsu 1 remake, in that it tried to stuff the whole game full of a thousand different things that weren't originally there just to harken back to the old games for no real reason, while also grinding some of the story up to fit their new revamped vision.Īnd a lot of that isn't super noticable at first, but becomes very apparent if you play FF Adventure or Adventures of Mana. Sword of Mana was a good enough game, albeit plagued by poor translation, worse AI, and combersome menus (seriously, I get they were trying to do the SoM ring thing, but it was just too much to navigate easily the beauty of the ring is it's quick simplicity). ![]()
